Just reading through the different types of quadrilaterals with their corresponding properties is a mundane task.
How can we make it interesting?
I love when the concepts are introduced along with literature (story-based books).
One such book for early grades is “If you were a Quadrilateral” by Molly Blaisdell. This book gives a basic understanding of the shape in a narrative way.
To take the understanding to the next level, hands-on activity is hands down the winner.
There are many ways we can model the different types of quadrilaterals, with some basic things we have.
Here are some ideas using sticks, popsicles, pattern blocks, geoboards etc. Have fun exploring!
