The news last week had lots to do with numbers. Why are those numbers important?

When it gives us a context to explore some place value concepts with some engaging questions, why not explore?!

Here’s a quick recap of last week’s news in relation to numbers

Questions 1 -3 are framed using the relation of value of a digit with respect to another.

Questions 4 and 5 are framed with an intention to think about the position of the ‘number in question’ in a given number line model (inspired by a task from SanGiovanni)
